Cam follower bearing is a kind of bearing, which is generally used in automobile camshafts (shafts that control the opening and closing of piston engine valves).
Structural features of cam follower bearing:

Use and maintenance of cam follower bearing:
(1) Check the curvature of the camshaft. Taking the journals at both ends as the fulcrum, the radial runout should not exceed 0.03mm. When it exceeds 0.10mm, it can be corrected by cold pressing.
(2) When the lift of the cam is not less than 5% of the specified value, the cam is not allowed to be ground, but the cam base circle and the radial circular runout tolerance of the cam base circle to the camshaft axis should be checked; the overhaul standard is 0.03mm, Overhaul is allowed no more than O.05mm.
(3) The surface of the cam is rough, scratched and pitted, and should be ground. When the top of the cam is worn more than 1.00mm, the top of the cam should be repaired after surfacing welding to restore the original size and shape, or replace it.
(4) The oil pump drive gear on the camshaft should be repaired if the tooth surface is rough or the tooth surface wear exceeds 0.50mm. If the individual teeth of the gear are damaged, it is allowed to continue to use after grinding off the acute angle without affecting the use. The surface roughness of the eccentric wheel driving the oil pump shall not exceed 0.80μm. When the wear of the eccentric wheel exceeds 2.00mm, the camshaft should be repaired or replaced by surfacing welding.
(5) The cylindricity tolerance of each journal of the camshaft: the overhaul standard is 5μm, the allowable overhaul is not more than 15μm, and the use limit is 25μm.
(6) The radial runout tolerance of the journal of the camshaft mounted timing gear and the end face circular runout error of the axial thrust end face are not greater than 35μm.
