Selection of cam follower bearings
1. Different internal structure
According to different internal structures, cam follower bearings can be divided into: cam follower bearings with cages and fully loaded cam follower bearings. The former is suitable for high-speed scenarios, while the latter is more suitable for carrying larger radial loads and a certain degree of shaft. Use for low-speed rotation scenarios with loads.
2. Material
Cam follower bearings made of stainless steel have excellent corrosion resistance and are also suitable for use in places where grease is not suitable or in environments with splashes of water, as well as in clean room environments such as clean rooms and high humidity environments.
3. Outer ring shape
The outer diameter of the outer ring of cam follower bearings is available in two types: spherical and cylindrical. The spherical outer ring is suitable for use in situations where uneven loads caused by installation errors need to be alleviated. It has a large area and is suitable for the sliding surface with large load or low hardness.
4. Application industry
Cam follower bearings have high rigidity and high precision as follower bearings for cam mechanisms and linear motion, and are widely used in machine tools, industrial robots, electronic components, and office automation equipment. Among them, bearings with small needle rollers in the outer ring are designed as cam follower bearings with a smaller outer diameter of the outer ring relative to the diameter of the rod end, and are widely used in electronic component equipment, office automation equipment, and small positioning devices.
Installation and use precautions
1. When installing the cam follower bearings, it is necessary to correctly align the side of the mounting hole and fix it with a nut according to the f value in the parameter table, so that the center line of the mounting hole and the moving direction of the cam follower bearings form an angle of 90°;
2. Do not hit the cam follower bearings directly with a hammer during the installation process to avoid scars, indentations, or even cracks and gaps on the track surface and rolling elements;
3. The maximum tightening torque range should not be exceeded when tightening the tightening nut. If the tightening torque is too large, the threaded part of the rod end may be broken. Try to use the original nut. If you do not use the cam follower bearing matching nut and directly tighten and install it on the fixed end, it is difficult to obtain enough tightening torque. If the fixed end is loose , the rod end will be damaged due to the concentration of bending stress on the threaded portion of the cam follower bearings, so it is not recommended to use this wrong method for installation. If you need to use it under working conditions that may loosen the nut, be sure to use a lock nut, spring washer or special lock nut, etc.;
4. As a kind of bearing, we should use it carefully in the process of using cam follower bearings to keep the environment and working tools clean.
