The thrust bearing of the steam turbine mainly bears the axial thrust of the rotor and determines the axial position of the rotor in the cylinder. The radial thrust roller bearings generate an oil film when the rotor rotates. The radial thrust roller bearings mainly bear the mass of the rotor and the centrifugal force caused by the imbalance of the rotor mass, and determine the radial position of the rotor.
Thrust roller bearings are used to support axial and radial combined loads with axial loads, but radial loads must not exceed 55% of axial loads. Compared with other thrust roller bearings, this type of bearing has a low friction factor, a high rotational speed, and has a self-aligning performance. The roller of the 29000 type bearing is an asymmetrical spherical roller, which can reduce the relative sliding of the roller and the raceway during operation, and has a long roller, a large diameter, a large number of rollers, a high load capacity, and is usually lubricated with oil. Individual low speed conditions can be lubricated with grease. In design selection, it should be preferred; 80000 thrust cylindrical roller bearings, 90000 thrust tapered roller bearings and AXK thrust needle bearings can withstand one-way axial loads, which is more axial than thrust ball bearings. The load capacity is much larger, and the rigidity is large and the axial space is small. Thrust cylindrical roller bearings and thrust needle roller bearings are suitable for low speed applications. Thrust tapered roller bearings have a slightly higher rotational speed than thrust cylindrical roller bearings.
Radial thrust roller bearings are bearings that are primarily subjected to radial forces.
The part of the shaft that is supported by the radial thrust roller bearings is called the journal. The part that matches the journal is called the bearing bush. The bearing that is made into a full cylindrical shape is called the bushing (Fig. 1). The part of the bearing bush is generally called the shell, the upper part is called the radial thrust roller bearing cover, and the lower part is called the bearing seat. The cover and the seat are coupled by a stud, and the joint faces of the two are positioned by a stop or a pin, and spacers of different thicknesses can be placed to adjust the bearing clearance. The interface of most radial thrust roller bearings is horizontal and also inclined to accommodate the load direction approaching perpendicular to the joint. In order to facilitate the entry of lubricating oil between the friction surfaces, the bearing cover is provided with an oil filling hole, and the bearing bush has an axial oil groove for distributing lubricating oil. The bearing cap and seat are mostly made of cast iron, and the load-bearing steel or steel plate welded structure is used.
